Busy week

After a busy week, we have done some very interesting tours with some great views in brillaint summer condition. I love being out there looking at the colours and beautiful views and of course sometimes we get lucky and see some wildlife too. We managed to come across our first reindeers this summer and I am sure there will be more to follow. Just a few pictures from our guided tours: Bjornhollia and Sollia areas. The weather has been great, sunny, few clouds around with top temperatures around 20-24 Celsius. Now we see more and more people around Venabygdfjellet walking, canoeing, swimming, riding horses. Summer season is on full throttle!

Walking around

The summer continues, +22 Celsius yesterday, sunny, light air. We are exploring more and more areas hoping to see our first reindeers this summer.

Summertime

Summer has arrived to Venabu, expecting no precipitation, up to 20 Celsius and lot of sunshine for this week. Please, bring insect repellent, the mosquitos are out and hungry.

Few more tours

We had another two days without rain and yesterday we enjoyed the sunshine in the Rondane National Park. Tuesday we had a walk to the South, Trabeliafjellet and Jonnhalt areas. We had a nice lunch at our summerfarm before we walked back to the hotel. Yesterday we went to Doralseter for a change and we walked amongst the big peaks of Rondane. Today we are back on wet condition, rain all day. Following days we are expecting less precipitation and warmer weather from next week on.

Guided tours

We had two nice tours in the last days. We spent some time yesterday around Svarfjellet and today we enjoyed the views of Dorfallet, Dora Canyon and Myafallet. The weather has been kind to us, so we had no rain so far ...only wind. Temperature was between 4-7 Celsius. Hopefully more sunshine is coming in the next few days.

Sunny spells and windy moments

After a few days with showers we are enjoying some sunshine. Temperature is around 4-10 Celsius, but feels colder because of the wind (moderate-fresh breeze). Next few days should be like this with less wind, but we might have more showers later on. We had a tour on Friday around Finnjovorda (close to Sollia) and we were hoping to see some reindeers (no luck so far).

More guided tours are coming this week both around Venabygdfjell and Rondane National Park.

Cloudy hiking days

Summer is here in a grey jacket :) It is cloudy out there, but beautiful and fairly calm. Few showers are expected, but nothing threatening :) +8 Celsius and gentle breeze, which is just perfect for hiking. We will have the same weather pattern for the next few days, maybe a few sunny spells too. First bigger groups are coming this weekend, so we look forward to guide them around.

Tuesday 9 June 2009

Good morning. +6 Celsius, cloudy, light breeze. No sign of clear sky and sunny condition (as www.yr.no forecasted this morning), more like mixed layers of clouds, calm and it is ready for a very pleasent hiking day.

Snowy morning followed by sunshine, hail and rain

After a mostly sunny day we woke up for a beautiful snowy morning. It was around +8 Celsius yesterday and around +1 Celsius earlier today. Later on we had some sunshine and then heavy rainfall arrived with a little bit of hail as a starter. We are expecting a lot of precipitation in the next few days.

Cool and windy days

Good morning. Yesterday we had a good 5-6hours of snowfall, but the result is only visible on Muen as you can see. It was around +2 Celsius all day with fairly windy condition. When you look at the weather charts you could clearly see the isobars coming from the North bringing cold air not only just to Scandinavia, but Germany and Central Europe as well. It is going to warm up slowly for the weekend and next week.

Myafallet "winter versus summer"

Just a few fun pictures to look at. I tried to take pictures from the same locations, so you could see the actual view from two different aspects.

Summer season starts

Hello all, I hope you are all excited about summer. I thought I keep you updated on our summer activities and try to spice it up with a few pictures. The weather has been up and down, we had a few early summer days, temperature was up 21.8 Celsius, but now we are back on cool and windy conditions (between -1 Celsius and +6 Celsius, up to fresh breeze). There are still some patches of snow around us, but further in the Rondane you could see some larger areas covered.
We have put a few bridges out already, so people could cross some major streams and rivers (Mya, Dora, etc.). We also had a look at Myafallet and Dorafallet. Please see the pictures.
