7AM: +3.8 Celsius, moderate breeze from W, clear sky , great visibility. It has been a sudden warmth in our weather - effecting mainly the mountains and higher regions. Hopefully it will stay only for a short time and we could get back into our real winter.
Trails are holding, although there is a lot of melting - so we are on klister condition.
Evening update: we had a great snowshoe tour to Myafallet, amazingly there were still cold and full winter conditions in the canyon.
6AM: -21.3 Celsius, light breeze from N, clear sky, great visibility. Beautiful Northern Light views last night on the horizon, not so strong, but visible. It seems to be a cold morning and ahead of another great day. Trails prepared: most of the southern trails, Veslefjellet, Indre Uksan (not Kvandalen). Trimloype has been driven by only skidoo, still waiting for some snow to come and cover up more. We had some lovely tours in last days and even visited the frozen Myafallet.
We just had a wonderful day skiing on and off piste around the central parts of Venabygdsfjellet, amazing light conditions and views. We could see the weather coming in. Right now it is already snowing!
We are officially in our first week of winter season 2014/15. Looking forward to see many winter enthusiasts. We will try our best to accommodate all ages and abilities with our activities and of course we will keep you updated on a daily basis what is really happening. Please keep blogging us and checking our Venabu Facebook sites too for more info and photos and let us know what you think and how we could serve you better.
Like the rest of the year, it's quite mild, but it seem like winter is slowly on its way. They forecast som more snow in a few days. We are going to try skiing in the area closer to Muen, which is a little bit higher up, this weekend.
I have to show you all some photos from the perfect autumn week! Almost like summer. Still warm days, still quit long days, and a small, very nice group, with two ladies that some of you might recognize from winter season... We all enjoyed it! -And they got a very different impression of the area, with no snow.

It has been a great summer with lots of events, activities and fun happening around Venabygdsfjellet. The season is almost over and the colors have already started changing - soon we will be getting excited about our winter season, but first let`s just enjoy the autumn wonders.
We are enjoying our summer activities here at Venabygdsfjellet and Rondane National Park: such as walking in the mountains, guided tours, horse riding, yoga courses, cycling, canoeing, fishing, cultural events and many more.
