Lots of snow
Dispite of having a nice sunny start yesterday we ended up on forecast weather and the front moved in bringing lots of precipitation. So far we had about 6.5mm (equals about 6-7cm of snow) and it is still coming. We might have some wind too, which could "re-organize" our surroundings.
7AM: -2.5 Celsius, light breeze from E-SE, snowing and limited visibility. We had a nice tour to Myafallet and managed to see some interesting things.

Partly cloudy
Good morning! Seems like a nice morning at 7 AM: -5 Celsius, partly cloudy, light breeze from N-NW. As the wind direction changed (having wind from North) so as the scenery -at least for a while we have more visibility, even sunshine. According to the forecast it will not last long there should be a sudden change around midday followed by a front coming in from South bringing significant precipitation. Would be this change -what we experience now- keeping that front away? Time will prove.

More snow
Good morning! 7AM: -2.8 Celsius, light air, low clouds, limited visibility, light snowfall. After a "snowless" morning yesterday we had more snow for the evening. From klister weather now we are back on hard wax - hopefully all day. Looking ahead it seems we might need some extra shovels.

"Fresh" start
Our weather decided to play different roles last night, keeping warm and suddenly changing to windy, cold, snowy conditions (about 1cm extra snow). Yesterday we reached our warmest spell with around +7 Celsius and seemed like it was clearly a klister day. Today is more of a winter day again: 7 AM: -5 Celsius, fresh breeze (9-10m/s), overcast, good visibility.
Saturday, 20 March 2010

Colder start again
After yesterday most of the people thought we need to gather our klister set, but fortunately we managed to ski on violet and red wax and now we are ready for a colder start. It has been windy for several days, bringing gentle to fresh breeze from W-NW-N directions. According to the forecast (prediction) cloudy days are coming and a bit colder (compare to +2 and +3 Celsius max temperatures in last 3 days).
This morning at 7 AM: -7 Celsius, moderate breeze from N, partly cloudy, good visibility, most of the trails are in good order.

As it looks now we might be experiencing some of the effects of Fohn-wind. More later..

Temperature variations for the week.
Good morning.
Now at 6am it is -8 and slightly cloudy. They say it's going to stay like this for a few days.
But within the last three days we've had temps from -22 to +3. So I would rather wait and see, the sun is quite high at the moment, and there is going to be a beautiful sunrise at around 7am.
So I believe there are more variations than the meteorologists really say.
Today, we arrange a tour towards Måsåplassen. Should be possibility to see some reindeer. There was a huge herd close to Muen crossing the road on Friday, and staying in Gråhøgda area on Saturday.
Have a great day out.

Monday 8.3
Good morning.
Yesterday we ended up with a maximum of +1, and had a thin layer of clouds so being outside was perfect. This is the time for getting the base tan for the summer.
Today we have the same predictions, with temps going up to zero.
Now it is -3 and a calm breeze. All tracks, except Kyrkjegardsfjell were cut yesterday.
We have 5 persons signed up for Skisafari activities this week and today they head for Dynjefjell.

Sunday
Good morning.
Today it's warmer and we start the day with -4C. That means a layer of blue.
A fresh thin layer of snow came last night so it's a tiny mm on the top of the hard packed snow that are in the tracks.
Quite cloudy today, but always good to be outside.

Few pictures from this week
Cold morning and sunny weekend
Good morning.
Here we start the day with -18, but after the sun has been up for a while it will be temperatures around -10.
Clear sky and sun rise at 0704 makes the day perfect.
All major trail routes were cut yesterday, so it is just to get out there and have fun on some blue/green wax.

Sunny Wednesday
Good morning! Clear sky at 7AM, -11 Celsius, gentle breeze from NW, maximum visibility. Wind has started chewing the trails and adding some extra bumps, but hopefully we are all skillful enough to complete some of these mogul runs.

Svabudalen-reindeer-tour
What a day! After spending a solid 7-8 hours out on the hills and valleys of Ringebufjellet we are back and enjoying memories of our nice tour. On the way to the starting point we had some jawdropping moments when we just drove past hundreds of reindeer. I think we could have agreed on finishing our day there, but we didn't. We did our usual 22-25km mixed on and off piste tour in Svabudalen, which was amazing, lots of sun, falls, some wind and great views. We must have travelled over thousands of reindeer tracks and "samples", no wonder we had no problems with the grip :)
Enjoy some of our pictures we took.
