Sun-day

Good morning, at 7AM: -8.8Celsius, sunny and clear, light breeze from N-NW. We had 0,1 mm of precipitation last night. Looking ahead - colder day or two with some precipitation (or not) and it seems to be the same pattern of weather what we had last week.

Weekend update

Nice snowy weekend with light snowfall, temperature around - 10Celsius and little wind. Yesterday it became almost sunny, but the clouds and fog took over again. In last 24 hrs we received about 3cm of snow. Total snowdepth after these windy and snowy days is around 75cm (windblown and consolidated state). Today at 7AM: -11 Celsius, almost no wind, fair visibility, light snowfall. Most of the trails were prepared yesterday - I guess with some snow on them now. Enjoy your weekend!
Sunday afternoon update: What a day! Sunshine, cold, deep snow and great trails.

Svartfjell sunday tour

Here are some images from the trip we did around Svartfjell today. A bit windy so the tracks was blown in, but it was nice and sunny. The wind made it easy going uphill. In the afternoon it started a little sprinkle of snow so it shall be exciting to see how much that will come during the night.

Around Svartfjell

Late update! Sorry, it has been very busy here, lot of people arriving this weekend. 2PM: -10 Celsius, light breeze, light snow fall on and off. We had about 5cm of new snow in the last 24hours. Trails are covered again, but we work on cutting them. Just a couple of pictures from yesterday, making our way around the beautiful Svartfjellet peak. First people out on the trails. We had limited visibility and light snow fall all day, but it was lovely. In the past few weeks there have been a lot of animal tracks around including lynx, wolf (one wolf was around Hundorp area, about 30km from us), fox, elk and hare. Weather forecast: expecting more snow (light) and wind tomorrow, possibly sunny from Monday on.

Last day of the year

I hope you are all having a great time, especially on your last day in this year. After those cold days we have a milder one today: -4Celsius, cloudy and snowed a little. Seems like the weather plays its cards again, because the forecast is totally different than what we are having today(according to the forecasts from different sites it should be -17 Celsius). I think it is going to stay like this for a few days. Looking at the current weather we might have some snow later on.
On the picture you see Nausterhaugen signpost and Svartfjell (black mountain) in the background (one of the most scenic routes is going around the mountain).
Have a fantastic evening and Happy New Year for you all! See you in 2009.
