Even more wind

Another windy day with changing conditions. We had two skisafaris today, a shorter one in the area around Veslefjell and the canyon, and a longer towards Venåsen (in the north-wests parts of Venabygdsfjellet) and back around Indre Uksan and over to Brennflya. Really windy from NW (7-9 m/sec). Really hard to ski towards the wind, easy and great fun when it came from behind.

Nice Friday

Update: Great skisafari to Gråhøgdbu and Dørfallet. Intermediate tour in the area Veslefjell-Dørfallet. Good skiingconditions both in and outside the track. Blue extra most of the day, violet would have been better for a short while :-)

Wednesday update

Since Robert have been busy with marking skitracks and rescuing dogs today, I can tell you that we had a really nice day today. We had a beautiful sunrise (we have been waiting for it) and a nice tour in fresh snow in the area around Veslefjell. We also went to the top, this time from the south. The other group went to the Canyon. By the time we got back, it started snowing again.

 Muen said good morning!

 ....and good bye.
Todays troll! Angry?

Cold morning - Northern tours

7AM: -21.5 Celsius, light air from N, clear, great visibility.

Late update: Mixed weather and tour day. We tried to ski on the other side of Muen, but had a hard time with high wind and icy surface, then we changed plan and continued our journey in Svarthammern area, which was pretty amazing - still hard surface and some icy sections, but much better temperature, sunny and great feeling.

Friday -more wind

6AM: -4.5 Celsius, fresh breeze from W-NW, partly cloudy, great visibility.
Late update: Great day out there - skiing from Venåssætra to the northern part of Venabygsfjellet. Partly cloudy and windy conditions followed us. We were surprised to see how much wind deposit was everywhere shaping the surface into a new snow world. It seems like we need to be very careful moving on steep ground, because there is a high risk of avalanches (we witnessed a few in Kvandalen). We were on blue extra or violet wax all day!

Tuesday -Reindeer on Muen

7AM: -3 Celsius, light breeze from W-NW, overcast, good visibility. Looking at the weather forecast - we might experience some changes in the next days. It has already started with cloudy and milder conditions.

Late update: Yesterday we had an anusual breakfast time when we looked at Muen and saw hundreds of reindeer climbing up and down. We altered our original skisafari tour to avoid any disturbance to the herd, but still managed to have a fantastic day out in the Northern parts of Venabygdsfjellet - even visited Gråhøgdbu.
