Easter

This is the best Easter ever! Perfect conditions, still on blue wax, nice, sunny weather. Cold mornings and warmer during the day. Light breeze from the north most of the time.

Lots of people spend their holiday at their cabins, many go skiing, but once we leave the trails we don't meet that many.

We arrange skisafari, short and long tour every day. Tours round Trabelifjell, Veslefjell, Dynjefjell, Indre Uksan and the Waterfall (Myfallet). Skisafaris to Gråhøgdbu, Måsåplassen, round Bølhøgda, Svabudalen and in the Sollia area.

Friday

-11 Celsius in the morning, up to -6,5 during the day. Some light snow in the morning, clearing up during the day. Gentle breeze from N-NE.

Skisafari from Venåssetra, towards Ramstind, round Bølhøgda and back to Venabu.

The other tour continued from Eldåbu to Venabu.

A nice lunch is very important, although it requires hard work!

Thursday

-15 Celsius in the morning, warmer during the day, ca -5 Celsius. Sunny and less wind, but still a cold breeze from the north. We did a snowshoetour to the waterfall

and skisafari to Måsåplassen

In addition we got a question Wednesday evening, if one of us could help a group that was skiing from Rondablikk to Eldåbu on thursday and continue to Venabu on Friday. Their guide had fallen and broken some ribs.

 Nice to see Svartfjell and Dynjefjell from another direction.

Wednesday

7AM: -14 Celsius, light air, overcast, good visibility. Just as it looked like it would clear up around 8.30 AM, we suddenly got snow and wind from N-NE.

Update: The weatherforecast promised less wind and good conditions during the day, that really didn't happen. We had a challenging tour from Gunstadseter, through Svabudalen and back to Venabu. Still enjoyable!

Tuesday

7AM: -22,8 Celsius, partly cloudy, good visibility.

Update: Skisafari towards Gråhøgdbu and Dørfallet. Short tour in the central parts, practising some off-trail. Nice day, temperatur rising to -8 Celsius, breeze from S-SE made it cold.

Monday

6AM: -8.9 Celsius, light air, overcast, fair visibility.

Sunday

6AM: -8.1 Celsius, calm, low clouds, limited visibility, little precipitation in last 24 hours (about 1mm).
Late update: Cloudy day with challenging light conditions, but great skiing.

Saturday

6AM: -11.1 Celsius, light air from SE, low clouds, limited visibility, light snowfall. Some precipitation last night.

Cold morning - Northern tours

7AM: -21.5 Celsius, light air from N, clear, great visibility.

Late update: Mixed weather and tour day. We tried to ski on the other side of Muen, but had a hard time with high wind and icy surface, then we changed plan and continued our journey in Svarthammern area, which was pretty amazing - still hard surface and some icy sections, but much better temperature, sunny and great feeling.

Thursday on Trolløypa

7AM: -17.1 Celsius, light breeze from N-NW, clear, great visibility.

6PM update: Great weather and time on Trolløypa South. The trail was prepared yesterday, but it seemed fairly windblown all the way to Måsåplassen.
