Sunny day
Good morning! What a morning! After days of fog and misty weather finally the curtain is up. At 7AM: -11.6 Celsius, light breeze from N, great visibility. Looking forward to a nice sunny day. Skisafari has started this week. Today we make an attempt on Dynjefjellet. Tomorrow is Masaplasen, then we start moving towards the Rondane National Park: Svabudalen, Rondablikk and Muen areas.
Weekend update
Last weekend we spent most of our skiing time in fog and some fresh snow on Sunday morning. We ended up with about 5-6cm of fresh snow. The temperature stayed in the subzero range, but at some point we could have put some violet wax on instead of blue.

Overcast morning
6AM: -11 Celsius, overcast, light air from N-NW. Seemed like the forecast was not so close to reality - we had light snowfall all day, very limited visibility and temperature up to -8 Celsius. We are glad to have some extra snow.

Friday
7AM: -12.9 Celsius, light breeze from S-SE, fair visibility, overcast, light snowfall. It is pretty amazing to see and ski in this light snow, which seems very deep. Probably by now it looks like we have got about 15-20cm of fresh snow on the ground in the last 48hrs, but it is only equals about 5-6mm of precipitation. It looks great.

Light snowfall
Weather and trail update at 7AM: -12 Celsius, light air from SE, light snowfall, about 2cm of fresh snow in last 24hrs. Looks like we have a similar weather pattern for the next 24hrs.
Yesterday Kyrkjegradsfjellet, Veslefjellet and Trabeliafjellet rounds were added to prepared trails.
Nice tour today along the Trolloypa from Masaplassen to Venabu. Some parts we had very limited visibility, but we enjoyed working our way through the snow.

Checking trolloypa
Today despite of the lower visibility and cold temperatures we decided to check the sticks we put out a couple of weeks ago on Trolloypa (to Eldabu hut) and also around Grahogdbu. Everything seemed to be in order. For my surprise I managed to spot a small herd of reindeer close to Grahogdbu DNT hut. The day turned out to be a nice one, even became sunny around 3PM.
Overcast
Seems like the weather continues with the same pattern: cloudy, grey, light snowfalls. In the last 24hrs we received about half a cm of snow and the temperature was pretty much in the same range between -12 and -16 Celsius. This morning at 6AM: -17 Celsius, light breeze from S-SE, overcast, limited visibility.

Very windy morning
Good morning, it seems like this season is about wind, cold and snow - of course all on a different level. After yesterday's snowfall we had about another 8-9cm of fresh snow, but early this morning the wind started its work on it. At 7AM: -11.3 Celsius, near gale force wind from NE, very limited visibility, windchill is in the minus 30's now. Fortunately the forecast was not correct, so we had a total of 12mm precipitation in last 36hrs (equals about 12-14cm of snow). That's great news!
Some of the trails were prepared yesterday, but I guess none of them can stand this force.
Later update: Wind died down and turned out to be a great sunny, but cold day with some interesting windblown snow formations.

New snow
Good morning! It has been a long time without fresh snow, I think we deserved some and now when I look out I see a nice blanket of fresh snow on the ground. Weather update at 6AM: -4.5 Celsius, light air from W, snowing (about 4cm so far), limited visibility. According to the weather forecast it will be overcast/partly cloudy, milder temperatures and just a little bit more snow -light snowfalls in the next days.

Tuesday
Weather update at 7AM: -2.9 Celsius, light breeze from E, overcast, good visibility. Looking at the weather forecast figures for yesterday, it did not seem to match. It was very mild (around 0 Celsius) compare to -7 Celsius for many hours in the afternoon and early evening.
Despite of this milder temperature the snow was holding well and the trails were fine.
We might have some snow coming on Friday.
On picture: interesting sight, dark shadow along the jetstream.
